Become an Author

This is your opportunity to have your views about Volunteer administration published on the World Wide Web.

Anyone who supports volunteers within an organisation which is a member of Volunteering Canterbury may become an Author on this Blog.  This means that you can post messages on the Blog (rather than just make comments).

If you’re not yet ready to become an Author, but would like to publish an item on this blog, please e-mail it to mgr@volcan.org.nz  Be sure to say what name you’d like it published under (it may be anonymous if you wish).

If you would like to become an Author, please go to the WordPress site, and join up (free) in the following way:

Click on ‘Join’ at the top right hand corner.
You will be asked for a Username.  Be warned, this name will later become part of the title of any WordPress blog you set up, so please consider your choice carefully.
You will also be asked for your e-mail address.
Select ‘Just a username please’ (unless you want to start your own blog right away).
When the sign-up process is complete check your e-mail inbox for confirmation from WordPress.
Click the link that appears in the message to confirm.
Once your sign-up with WordPress is complete send an e-mail to Ruth Gardner, Manager, Volunteering Canterbury mgr@volcan.org.nz with:

  • your WordPress username
  • your e-mail address
  • the name of the organisation you’re involved with
  • your position in that organisation
  • a request to be made an Author

You will be sent a message once your status is confirmed.      Ruth Gardner
